Kora Reddy's TOY Barometer
inspired by Wayne Whaley's TOY Barometer ( whose newsletter , I once was a subscriber )
since 1980 , based on the Sensex historical data ,
if you invest on the 1st trading day of the year and exits on the last trading day of the year
defining Kora Reddy’s TOY Barometer , (Turn Of the Year Barometer ),
if we could only make one trade in a year based on one indicator, this is the indicator we’d use , we will try to find out what trading day of the year , in the first 20 trading days is highly correlated between the Sensex returns for the rest of the year and year to date returns and call that date as the Kora Reddy’s TOY Barometer .
trading query , if Sensex is up for the year as on so on and so trading day of the year , what are odds for the rest of the year returns ??
prior instances of Sensex up for the year as on 14th trading day of the year , and the rest of the year returns , since 1980
one line summary : the win rate stands at 80% , with and average gains of 18.21 % and median gains of 14.98% for the rest of the year from today .
